Recombinant form of human growth hormone (identical amino-acid sequence to natural GH), studied and used clinically for restoring normal growth and metabolic function in patients with diagnosed GH deficiency. Effects include increased lean mass, bone density, and metabolic rate. FDA-approved only for specific diagnosed conditions (e.g., pediatric growth failure, adult GH deficiency) under strict prescribing and monitoring; not approved for anti-aging, athletic performance, or general wellness use, and carries real risks (fluid retention, joint pain, insulin resistance, and theoretical cancer growth concerns) when used outside a diagnosed deficiency.
